Services for Sam A. Gianforte of Magnolia are 10 a.m., Saturday,Sept. 8, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in McComb with burial inMagnolia Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. with a rosary service at 7p.m. at Catchings Funeral Home.

Mr. Gianforte, 78, died Sept. 5, 2001, at his residence. He wasborn in Magnolia on Aug. 5, 1923, to John Gianforte and Rosa SarahLaMartine Gianforte.

He was a retired sales representative for Flav O Rich. He was amember of St. James Catholic Mission in Magnolia. He was a formermember of the Lions Club. He was an Army veteran of WWII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, PatriciaAnn Gianforte Thames; his sisters, Elizabeth Bethea, FrancesGianforte, and Vencie Gianforte; and his brother, VincentGianforte.

Survivors are his wife, Valerite Thornhill Gianforte; hissisters, Grace Rodgers of Magnolia, Rosa Pounds of Brookhaven, andMary Paulson of Chicago; his brother, Joe Gianforte of Shreveport,La.; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
