Services for Bernard M. McClelland of Brookhaven are 3 p.m.today at Easthaven Baptist Church with burial in Riverwood MemorialPark.
Visitation is until 1 p.m. at Harrigill Funeral Home and at thechurch from 2:30 until service time.
Mr. McClelland, 80, died Sept. 22, 2001, at his residence. Hewas born in Lincoln County on Aug. 3, 1921, to Mack McClelland andClara Brown McClelland.
He was a retired rural mail carrier. He was a Mason and aShriner. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars andserved on many local and national committees. He was VFW StateCommander of the Department of Mississippi in 1963. He was a memberof the American Legion.
Mr. McClelland was an Army veteran of WWII, having served in aheavy artillery unit.
He was serving as election commissioner for District 3.
He was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors are his wife, Floye Jones McClelland of Brookhaven;his son, John “Buster” Hickman of Brookhaven; his daughters, LucyeMcClelland Moore and Ann Hickman Van Norman, both of Brookhaven;his son-in-law, Claude W. Van Norman; his grandchildren, DylanHickman, Beth Hickman Johnson, Sherry Hickman Boyte, Chauncey VanNorman, and Whitney Lynn Herring; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of Natchez-Adams VFW Post 9573.Honorary pallbearers will be all past State Commanders of theVFW.
