Services for prominent Brookhaven businessman Chester A. Clarkof Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Faith PresbyterianChurch with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-7 p.m. at Harrigill Funeral Home andTuesday at the church from 1 p.m. until service time.

Mr. Clark, 89, died Sept. 23, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Black Rock, Ark., on Aug. 8, 1912, to LutherClark and Aurora Corbett Clark.

He was a businessman, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He wasPast Potentate of Wahabi Shrine Temple. He belonged to numerouscivic and service clubs. He was president of Dixie Shrine.

Mr. Clark was a long-time board member of Mississippi Children’sHome and received their Friend of Children Award. He was a pastking of the Krewe of Ceres Charity Ball.

He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was a member ofFaith Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.

Survivors are his wife of 65 years, Jonnie Magee Clark ofBrookhaven; his son and daughter-in-law, Ernie L. and Mary Clark ofBrookhaven; his daughter and son-in-law, Bette and Charles Dixon ofBrookhaven; his brothers, Leroy Clark, Lavelle Clark, and RalphClark, all of Walnut Ridge, Ark., and Victor Clark of Portia, Ark.;his grandchildren and their spouses, Cristan and Gus Delaney ofClinton, Lee Clark of St. Joe, Mo., Andrew Clark of SamfordUniversity, Allison and Jim Ingram of Birmingham, Ala., and Clarkand Emilie Dixon of Jackson Hole, Wyo.; and fourgreat-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Faith Presbyterian Church CompassionFund, Mississippi Children’s Home Society of Jackson, or any othercharity of choice.
