Services for Johnny R. Monroe Sr. of Meadville are 10 a.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Meadville Presbyterian Church with burial inMidway Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Franklin Funeral Home andWednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Monroe, 74, died Oct. 1, 2001, at St. Dominic’s Hospital inJackson. He was born in Newton County on Feb. 22, 1927, to JamesClark Monroe and Neva Roberts Monroe.

He was retired as county agent for the Cooperative ExtensionService for Franklin County. He was a member of MeadvillePresbyterian Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife, DorothyMonroe; and two brothers.

Survivors are his wife, Hellon Monroe of Meadville; his son,Johnny Monroe Jr. of Meadville; his stepsons, Steve Wentworth ofPensacola, Fla., Stewart Wentworth of Jackson, and Robin Wentworthof Hattiesburg; his brothers, James Clark Monroe of Gilbert andCurtis Monroe of Fulton; his sister, Neva Doler of Eupora; andthree grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren.
