Services for Ouida Boyd Beard of New Orleans, formerly of Ruth,are 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at Powell’s Grove United PentecostalChurch in Jayess with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Oct. 7, from 5 p.m. until service time atPowell’s Grove U.P.C.

Mrs. Beard, 75, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at her residence.She was born in Jayess on Aug. 31, 1926, to the late Clifton Sedleyand Myrtis Lee Morgan Boyd.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Chalmette BaptistChurch in Chalmette, La.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Charles RayBeard; and brothers, Alcus Boyd and Mack John Boyd.

Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, J.C. and Lisa Beardof Chalmette; daughters and sons-in-law, Myrtis Louise and ThomasLockette of New Orleans and Shirley and Robert Oalmann of St.Bernard, La.; brother, Alfred Boyd of Jackson; sister, Flora LeeBrown of Georgia; seven grandchildren; and onegreat-grandchild.

Catchings Funeral Home in McComb is in charge ofarrangements.
