Services for Elmer Smith of Pearlington are 1 p.m., Wednesday,Oct. 10, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in PleasantHill Cemetery at Union Church.
Visitation is today from 4-10 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith, 88, died Oct. 7, 2001, at North Shore Medical Centerin Slidell, La. He was born in Franklin County on July 20, 1913, toGeorge W. Smith and Sarah Jane Campbell Smith.
He was a retired auto mechanic for Ford Motor Company inFayette.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his sons, James W.,Kenneth, Edgar Ray, and Leroy Smith; his daughters, JeanetteWilliamson and Opal Sanders; his wife, Annie Lou Varnado Smith; hisgrandson, Robert Smith; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors are his sons, G. W. Smith of Picayune, Elmer HaroldSmith of Ellisville, Tommy Smith of Carrier, and Donald Smith ofNatchez; his daughter, Flora Walker of Pearlington; his sister,Queenie Waldon of Brookhaven; and 28 grandchildren, 26great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
