Services for Mary Katherine Foster of Union Church were 11 a.m.,Friday, Oct. 12, at Galatia Methodist Church with burial in UnionChurch Cemetery.

Harrigill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Foster, 96, died Oct. 10, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Jefferson County on July 11, 1905, to CashGarrett and Margaret Welch Garrett.

She was retired as postmaster for Union Church Post Office. Shewas a member of the Methodist faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and her husband,Rudolph Foster.

Survivors are her brother, George Garrett of Lafayette; hersister, Ann Galbreath of Union Church; and a host of nieces andnephews.
