Services for Leora Gayten Carter of Bogue Chitto are 2 p.m.,Saturday, Oct. 20, at Rosehill M. B. Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from noon until 5 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary. The wake will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at thechurch.

Mrs. Carter, 69, died Oct. 14, 2001, at her residence. She wasborn in Lincoln County on Aug. 25, 1932, to Lee A. Gayten and AnnieGayten. She was a graduate of Lincoln County Training School andattended Mississippi Industrial College in Holly Springs.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Rosehill M. B.Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her daughter,Valencia Scarbough.

Survivors are her husband, Robert Carter Jr. of Bogue Chitto;her sons, Rene Carter and Ricky R. Carter, both of Brookhaven, andRonnie W. Carter of Memphis; her daughters, Ann Wrenetha King ofLansing, Mich., Katrina C. Hawkins of Columbus, Ga., and YolandaShack, Lotoyia C. Fairman, Annetra Carter, and Antrinice Carter,all of Brookhaven; her sister, Clara Dixon of Memphis; and 12grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
