Services for Berry Thornhill of Jayess are 2 p.m., Wednesday,Oct. 24, at Powell’s Grove Pentecostal Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Visitation begins today at the church at 2:30 p.m. and continuesuntil service time.

Mr. Thornhill, 89, died Oct. 22, 2001, at Lawrence CountyHospital. He was born in Walthall County on Jan. 23, 1912, toVirgil Thornhill and Lucy Ann Roberts Thornhill.

He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Powell’s GrovePentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers, onesister, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.

Survivors are his wife, Pearlie Nations Thornhill of Jayess; hisson, Marcus Thornhill of Purvis; his daughters, Artelia Ard ofJayess, Ola Mae Johnson of Monticello, and Lynne Ann Boyd ofTylertown; his stepbrother, Carl Thornhill of Louisiana; hissisters, Irene Price of Texas, Maggie Franklin of Florida, andDonzie Williamson of Monticello; his halfsister, Rose Parker ofLouisiana; his stepsister, Katie Dunaway of Jayess; and fivegrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
