Services for Jo Smith Mathews of Brookhaven are 10:30 a.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church with burialin the church cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mrs. Mathews, 50, died Oct. 22, 2001, at University MedicalCenter in Jackson. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 4, 1951,to Richard Lamar Smith and Willena Haley Smith.

She was employed with the State Tax Commission. She was a memberof Heuck’s Retreat Baptist Church, where she was assistant pianistand was a member of the choir and WMU.

Preceding her in death were her father; her husband, JohnCharles “Charlie” Mathews; and three children.

Survivors are her mother, Willena Smith of Brookhaven; heraunts, Loucyle Bowman and Moreta Lea, both of Brookhaven, and ahost of cousins.
