One jailed, one sought in Brookhaven drug bust

A Brookhaven man was arrested and another suspect is beingsought after crack cocaine was sold to an undercover agent Thursdayafternoon at a Minnesota Street residence.
Cedric Watson, 26, of 334 East Minnesota Street, where the buywas made, was arrested and charged with the sale of a controlledsubstance for prior activity with an undercover agent, according toCrieg Oster, Commander of Southwest Mississippi NarcoticsEnforcement Agency.
“We’ve been watching this area for a while,” Oster said.
Authorities are still searching for Kimberly Crimmell, 24,address unknown, who apparently sold $80 worth of crack cocaine toan agent Thursday, then ran from officers.
“When the police officers and agents were securing theresidence, Crimmell fled on foot,” Oster stated.
Brookhaven Police Chief Arlustra “Pap” Henderson, whosedepartment assisted in the bust, hopes Crimmell will turn himselfin since he is so well-known to officers.
“He just got out of prison a few months ago. He served 7 yearsfor aggravated assault,” Henderson said.
A warrant has been issued for Crimmell’s arrest. He is chargedwith probation violation, sale of crack cocaine and conspiracy todistribute, Oster added.

Henderson thanked Oster and his agents for helping control thedrug activity in Brookhaven and Lincoln County.
“We appreciate the help on this case and the help with the drugproblems we have,” he said. “We’re going to continue to knock adent in it.”
Henderson said he enjoys seeing the drugs get off the streets ofBrookhaven. Marijuana, crack cocaine and paraphernalia wereconfiscated from the house.
