Addison’s 2 TDs leads Bogue Chitto over Mt. Olive 28-8

MT. OLIVE – Senior tailback Dominique Addison scored twotouchdowns Friday night for the Bogue Chitto Bobcats who handed theMt. Olive Pirates a 28-8 Region 4-1A defeat.
Bogue Chitto improved to 6-1 in the region and 8-1 on theseason. Mt. Olive falls to 3-4 in region play and overall.
The Bobcats are tied for second place in the region withEnterprise (8-1, 6-1). Enterprise fell to defending state champMize 48-24 Friday and will face the Bobcats inr the final game ofthe regular season for both teams on Nov. 9.
“It was a good game,” said Bogue Chitto head coach Carl Cole.”We played well. We keep taking them (games) one at a time.”
Bogue Chitto senior tailback Denard Ferguson scored a touchdownin the first quarter on a run of 10 yards. Lindsey Jackson kickedhis first of two PATs as Bogue Chitto took an early 7-0 lead.
In the second quarter, Bogue Chitto senior quarterback JacobLeggett rushed for a 14-yard score and a 14-0 lead on Jackson’sPAT.
Following a scoreless third quarter, Bogue Chitto got twotouchdowns from Ferguson on runs of 2 and 6 yards. Ernie Johnsonkicked both PATs for a 28-7 win.
Addison rushed the football 13 times for 109 yards, breaking the1,000 yard rushing mark with a total of 1,002 yards on the season.Ferguson carried 17 times for 80 yards.
The Bobcats rushed the football 41 times for 226 yards andcollected 14 first downs.
Leggett completed 3 of 4 passes for 48 yards for the Bobcats.Cody Wallace caught all three passes.
On defense, Fred Smith led Bogue Chitto with eight tackles.Caleb McCaffery and John Wallace made six stops apiece.
Bogue Chitto hosts region rival Natchez Cathedral (3-5, 2-5)Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
