A Brookhaven man who ran from authorities last week afterallegedly selling drugs to an undercover agent was arrestedWednesday at a Furr Avenue residence.

Kimberly Crimmell, 24, of 235 South Fourth Street, wasapprehended at the home of his girlfriend after eluding officersfor almost one week, authorities said.

A warrant had been issued for his arrest after he ran fromauthorities following the sale of about $80 of crack cocaine onEast Minnesota Street last Thursday, said Brookhaven Police ChiefArlustra “Pap” Henderson.

“I received some information for the Department of Correctionsthat the subject was on Furr Avenue Wednesday, so we got thewarrant, went over there and talked him out,” said, Henderson,adding that Crimmell was hesitant at first.

Crimmell was charged with the sale of crack cocaine, conspiracyto distribute crack cocaine and probation violation. He wasreleased from prison a few months ago after a seven year term foraggravated assault.

Crimmell remained in the Lincoln County Jail Thursday morningawaiting a bond hearing.

Henderson was grateful for the assistance of MississippiDepartment of Corrections and local concerned citizens.

“I really appreciate the help we got from the MDOC, and thecitizen who was giving me information on him,” Henderson said.

He added that the help of citizens and their alertness is whatmakes Brookhaven safe, because it allows officers to have “eyes andears” in many different areas.
