Services for Claude W. Wooten of Brookhaven were 10 a.m.,Friday, Nov. 9, at New Prospect Baptist Church with burial in thechurch cemetery.

Mr. Wooten, 86, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at his residence.He was born in Lincoln County on Oct. 15, 1915 to Samuel and SelmaSmith Wooten.

He was a gauger for Standard Oil Company for 20 years, he alsoworked in Maintenance at King’s Daughters Hospital. He was a memberof New Prospect Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Gordon Wooten;and a sister, Aileen Huff.

Survivors are his wife, Lorena Prather Wooten of Brookhaven; twosons, Steve Wooten of Star, and Howard Wooten of Madison; and adaughter, Gwen Jeffries of Brookhaven; 19 grandchildren and 20great-grandchildren.
