Services for Irene Smith of Brookhaven are 11 a.m., Tuesday,Nov. 20, at New Salem Church of Christ with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is today from 4-10 p.m. and Tuesday from 8-10:30 a.m.at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith, 83, died Nov. 18, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born in Lincoln County on May 15, 1918, to HamlinSmith and Mamie Norton Smith.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of New Salem Church ofChrist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brothers, Holon andRobert Smith; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Faye Smith; herson-in-law, Jackie Lea; and her great-grandchild, Kolby DylanSmith.

Survivors are her husband, Garland T. Smith of Brookhaven; hersons and daughters-in-law, Kelmer R. Smith Sr. and Peggy C. Smith,Calvin Smith, and Darrell Smith and Diana Smith, all of Brookhaven;her daughter, Laverne Lea of Brookhaven; her brothers, Colon Smithand Leroy Smith, both of Brookhaven; her sisters, Wessie Smith andNellie Jackson, both of Brookhaven, and Rowena Maxwell of BatonRouge; and 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
