Services for John Sauls Roberts Sr. of Brookhaven are 1 p.m.,Tuesday, Nov. 20, at First Baptist Church with burial in Rose HillCemetery.

Visitation today is noon until 1 p.m. at First BaptistChurch.

Mr. Roberts, 73, died Nov. 18, 2001, at Baptist Medical Centerin Jackson. He was born in Brookhaven on Nov. 27, 1927, to JohnMerritt Roberts and Vivian Sauls Roberts. He was a fourthgeneration Brookhavenite.

He was the founder of Claiborne Natural Gas and an oil and gasproducer. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran ofthe Korean War.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his sisters, VivianRoberts and Matil Fields.

Survivors are Mignone Calcote Roberts of Brookhaven; his son,John Sauls Roberts Jr.; his daughters, Melody Jewel Roberts, MistyRoberts Perry, and Mimi Vivian Roberts Howard; his sister, JoanTilson; his grandchildren, Meagan Jewel Turpin, Graham Perry, JohnMerrit Howard, Mignone Perry, Isabel Perry, and Camille Perry; andhis great-grandchildren, McKenzi Jewel Turpin and AndersonTurpin.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, theDiabetic Society, First Baptist Church, or the BrookhavenTrust.
