Services for Gertrude Hooker of Oma are 11 a.m., Friday, Nov.23, at Greater Mt. Olive M. B. Church with burial in PleasantValley Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church. TylerFuneral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hooker, 105, died Nov. 19, 2001, at her residence. She wasborn in Lawrence County on April 30, 1896, to Ransom May andSusanna Simmons May.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Greater Mt. Olive M. B.Church, where she had served as treasurer and was a member of theMissionary Society. She was the first grand marshal of theChristmas parade in Oma.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, HurdHooker; her son, L. C. Baggent; her daughter, Lerlean Davis; and ahost of brothers and sisters.

Survivors are her seven grandchildren, including Sandra Harrisof Oma, 14 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and ahost of nieces and nephews.
