Brookhaven Academy too powerful for Rebul

LEARNED – Anna Gatlin scored 15 points and collected sixrebounds to lead the 6-0 Brookhaven Academy girls to a 68-20 Fridaynight win over Rebul Academy.
The Brookhaven Academy boys shut down Rebul 58-47, powered bycenter Paul Coker’s 24 points.
Adding support for Brookhaven with 10 points was Anna King.Angie Davis pulled down five rebounds. Ancy Myers made three stealsand had four assists. April Douchard made four steals.
“We played an excellent half-court defense,” said BrookhavenAcademy girls head coach Barry Gray. “It was our best passing gameof the year.”
Gray said the team made 17 steals, had 23 assists and shot 56percent from the field.
Leading Rebul was Morgan Womack with 11 points.
In the boys game, Brookhaven Academy (2-1) overcame a one-point9-8 deficit at the end of the first quarter to go ahead 26-19 atthe half.
“We did pretty good,” said Brookhaven Academy boys head coachDale Watts. “We had a good night.”
Craig Smith added support to the Brookhaven win with eightpoints.
Junior High Girls
Brookhaven Academy dusted Rebul 43-15. Emily Langley and CaseyWilliams sparked the 5-0 Lady Cougars with 12 points apiece.
