Services for Willie J. Short of Monticello are 2 p.m., Thursday,Dec. 6, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial in RamahBaptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday beginning at 5 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Short, 82, died Dec. 3, 2001, at his residence. He was bornin Lawrence County on Jan. 31, 1919, to Thomas Short and ShellieBass Short.

He was a former county worker. He was an Army veteran ofWWII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Neva JacksonShort; and his son, Jerry Short.

Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Wanda Shortof San Jacinto, Calif.; his daughter-in-law, Betty Short ofMonticello; his daughter, Mary Short Cupit of Brookhaven; hissister, Marie Letchworth of Hattiesburg; and five grandchildren,eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
