NATCHEZ – The Bogue Chitto Bobcats had all five of theirstarters foul out Tuesday night as they held off the CathedralGreen Wave 63-59 in varsity boys basketball action. Directing thevictory was Dominick Addison with 17 points.

In the varsity girls game, Bogue Chitto trounced Cathedral71-23, powered by Jessica Melton’s 21 points.

Bogue Chitto resumes play Thursday night, hosting Wesson for amakeup date. Two junior high games will precede the varsity inCalhoun Gymnasium.

The Lady Bobcats (4-0) got 18 points and 4 rebounds fromRandi Moak and 13 points from Marquita Ratcliff. Melton had 9steals and 4 assists. Yolanda Drummond snatched 8rebounds.

The Bobcats (3-1) got 10 rebounds from Dorian Dunn. FredSmith had 4 rebounds. Michael Blackwell made 11 points and 4steals. Denard Ferguson chipped in 11 points and Carlos Brown10.

“The big difference was having all of our starters backfrom last year,” said Bogue Chitto boys coach Theo Black. Severallate arrivals from BC’s state playoff football team helpedcontribute to the victory.

The Bobcats erased a 29-22 halftimedeficit.

Junior High Action

Bogue Chitto battled Cathedral to a 33-33 deadlock inboys action. The Bobcats got 16 points from Anthony Stevenson and 4from Irrie Catchings.

Russell Barber scored 11 for Cathedral.
