Still time to register for ‘bucks’ grand prize

A Brookhaven woman plans to stack plenty of presents under herChristmas tree after getting a little extra help with the amountshe can spend.

“I’m so excited. I’ll definitely have some extra Christmas giftsaround the house this year,” said Carolyn Adams, who was the winnerof $200 in Hometown Bucks in week seven of the DAILY LEADER’sHometown Christmas giveaway.

Her husband, Mitchell, did not believe her when Adams told himabout winning the “bucks,” but she’s sure he will when she brings afew more Christmas gifts home for family and friends.

“I’m can’t wait to go spend my money,” Adams told a Brookwoodstore clerk while eying a few items she liked.

Adams will be able to spend her Hometown Bucks at any of theparticipating merchants:

* Bank of Brookhaven

* Brookwood Gifts & Antiques

* Lofton’s Sporting Goods

* Rushing Boots and Shoe Shop

* Shipp’s Flowers

* State Bank

* T.H. Perkins Furniture Company

* Walls Lumber

Only one more drawing remains in The DAILY LEADER’S HometownChristmas promotion. It will be held Friday, Dec. 14, for the grandprize of $600 in Hometown Bucks, bringing the total to $2,000 givenaway this year to encourage residents to shop locally and help thearea economy.

Shoppers may register for the drawings at any of theparticipating businesses. Shoppers may enter as many times as theywould like.

Employees of the DAILY LEADER and their families are noteligible to win. Employees of participating merchants may notregister at their respective business, but they may register at anyof the other participating businesses.
