Services for Christine Smith Powell of Taylorsville, andformerly of McComb, are 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 20, at CatchingsFuneral Home Chapel with burial in Damascus Cemetery in FranklinCounty.

Visitation is today from 5:30-9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m.until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Powell, 79, died Dec. 17, 2001, at Forrest General Hospitalin Hattiesburg. She was born in Franklin County on July 27, 1922,to Jessie James Smith and Ethel Smith Smith.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Calhoun Baptist Churchin Taylorsville.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, LeonLeslie Powell.

Survivors are her son, Leslie Dale Powell of Taylorsville; herbrothers, Paul Smith of Natchez and Gerald Smith of Pearl; hersisters, Pearline Barefoot and Juanita Cotton, both of Natchez, andMaxine Curtis of Virginia; and two grandchildren, onegreat-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
