Division 7-3A champion Wilkinson County leads the 2001All-Division Football Team. Quarterback Travis Dent and defensiveback Charlie Spillers of Wilkinson County received individual MostValuable Player Awards on offense and defense respectively.

Wilkinson County (11-1, 6-0), under the direction of head coachJohn Moore, Jr., went undefeated in the division race and advancedto the third round of the Class 3A state playoffs. The Wildcatslost to Columbia 26-14 in the quarterfinals.

North Pike (5-6, 4-2), coached by Bogue Chitto native AdamBarron, finished second in the division race and advanced to thestate playoffs. The Jaguars landed five players on the team:offensive lineman Justin Fuller, running back Steve Garner,defensive lineman Jeremy Pittman, linebacker Dusty Davis anddefensive back Glover Quinn.

Franklin County (6-5, 4-2), coached by Michael Goff, placedthird in the division race. The Bulldogs landed eight positions onthe squad: offensive lineman T.J. Hawley, receiver Tommie Smith,punter Byron Brooks, defensive linemen Taylor McMinn and Donald RaySmith, linebacker James Hunt, defensive back Tommie Smith andplacekicker Chris Blackwell.

Hazlehurst (4-6, 3-3), coached by Willie Brown, was fourth inthe division and also advanced to the state playoffs. The Indianswere represented by six players: offensive lineman Lamon Robinson,running back Damien Gary, defensive linemen Pat Bozeman and AntonioMayman; linebacker Deguan Belton and defensive back Roy Howard.
