Services for Leroy “Donald” Smithie Jr. of Brookhaven are 2p.m., Friday, Dec. 28, at Providence Baptist Church with burial inRuth Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 5-10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. untilnoon at Harrigill Funeral Home, and continues Friday from 1:30 p.m.until service time at the church.

Mr. Smithie, 66, died Dec. 26, 2001, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. He was born in Lawrence County on Dec. 14, 1935, to LeroySmith Sr. and Toy Lea Smithie Bardwell.

He was a retired tool pusher. He was a member of ProvidenceBaptist Church. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps.

Preceding him in death were his father; and his son, RonnySmithie.

Survivors are his wife, Joyce Brister Smithie of Brookhaven; hismother, Toy Lea Smithie Bardwell of Monticello; his daughter andson-in-law, Bonita and Joney Britt of Ruth; his sisters, PatsyParkman and Barbara Randall, both of Jayess; and his grandchildren,Stuart and Jonathan Britt.
