Services for Lillie Franklin Smith of Summit are 2 p.m. Tuesday,Jan. 8, at Hartman Funeral Home Chapel in McComb with burial inWoodlawn Cemetery in Summit.

Visitation is Monday, Jan. 7, from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 8,from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith, 96, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Pineview NursingHome in Waynesboro. She was born in Lincoln County on Aug. 23,1906, to the late Will and Minnie Nettles Franklin.

Mrs. Smith retired from Kellwood after 35 years of service. Shewas also a homemaker and a loving mother. She was the oldest memberof the Fellowship Baptist Church in Summit.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest E.Smith; sons, Elmer Smith and Pearlie Smith; three brothers; andthree sisters.

Mrs. Smith is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Leonard andMinnie Smith of Baker, La.; daughters and sons-in-law, MildredZeller of Rockford, Ill., Mavis and Andy Anderson of Albany, Ga.,Earline and Vincent Unger of Ashton, Ill., and Thelma and KennethDoby of Waynesboro; daughters-in-law, Chris Daigle and CalistaSmith, both of Zachary, La.; sister, Annie Ruth Laird ofBrookhaven; and 68 grand, great-, andgreat-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Sammy Zeller, Spencer Smith, Roy Anderson, BobUnger, Kevin Smith, Mitch Smith and John Kenna. Honorarypallbearers are Joe Unger, Steve Smith, Stacy Smith, Scotty Smithand David Anderson.
