Services for G. W. Smith of Bogue Chitto are 2 p.m. Monday, Jan.14, at Calvary Baptist Church with burial in the churchcemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 13, from 5-9 p.m. at BrookhavenFuneral Home.

Mr. Smith, 82, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at King’s DaughtersMedical Center. He was born in Bogue Chitto on Feb. 22, 1919, tothe late Acy J. and Lizzie Gatlin Smith.

He was a retired Baptist minister who pastored churches inMississippi for nearly 50 years. He was a member of Calvary BaptistChurch. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors are his wife, Lottie B. Smith of Bogue Chitto; son,Greg Smith of Bogue Chitto; daugher and son-in-law, Janell andKenny White of Columbia; sisters, Ruby Lee Corban of Baker, La.,and Faye Wright of Baton Rouge, La.; five grandchildren, KenyonGreer, Bradley White, Kristen White, Susan Dubson and ShannonNunnery; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces andnephews.
