Lofton leads Bears over Cathedral

NATCHEZ – Forward Luke Lofton pumped in a game-high 30 points topower the West Lincoln Bears to a 57-51 Division 7-1A win over theNatchez Cathedral Green Wave Friday night. Lofton also pulled downnine rebounds, made three steals and had three assists.

In varsity girls play, Dana King’s 24 points (including six3-pointers) and five rebounds sparked the Lady Bears to a 70-23victory over the Lady Greenies. King also had four assists and madefive steals.

Adding support to the West Lincoln (9-7) Bears win with ninepoints was Tyler Smith. Sam Collins collected six rebounds.

Lyndsay Franklin’s 13 points contributed to the 13-3 WestLincoln girls win. Lauren Smith netted 10 points.

Mary Arnold paced Cathedral with nine points.

Junior varsity girls

Franklin directed the West Lincoln girls with 10 points in their25-7 victory over Cathedral.

West Lincoln hosts Loyd Star Tuesday for four games. The JVgirls begin play at 4 p.m.
