Services for John Dixon of Chico, Calif., will be held at alater date. Brusie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dixon, 75, died Jan. 14, 2002, at his residence. He was bornin Brookhaven on March 21, 1926, to Watt and Lula Dixon. He movedto California in 1948.

He worked for the Pacific Railroad for over 20 years and for theLong Bell Lumber Company for another 10 years before his retirementin 1978. He was a member of the American Legion in Weed, Calif. Hewas an Army veteran of WWII. He loved to fish and cook.

Survivors are his daughters, Penny Thomas and Helen Dixon, bothof Chico, and Betty Jean Robinson of Chicago; his son, John DixonJr. of Chico; his sisters, Dora Culver and Debra Payne, both ofBrookhaven; and 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
