BHS girls dump Terry

TERRY – The Brookhaven Lady Panthers rallied in the final threeminutes of the fourth quarter to pull out a 55-46 Division 6-4ATuesday night win over the Terry Lady Bulldogs.

Brookhaven lost the varsity boys game but additional informationwas unavailable at press time.

“We didn’t play well,” said Brookhaven girls coach Ronald Gill.”We didn’t quit. We fought back.”

Gill said his girls trailed Terry through the first threequarters but tied the game with around 2:30 left to play and wentahead to secure the nine-point win. Brookhaven trailed Terry 10-7,26-25 and 41-32 before going on a 23-5 run in the final frame.

Directing the Lady Panthers (22-1, 4-0) with 11 points apiecewere guard Aneida Stanton and center Ayana Tillman. Stanton alsomade five steals and had four assists.

Tillman led off the backboards with 12 rebounds. Shamika Gilmorefollowed with 10 rebounds, four steals and two assists.

Jasmine Lindsey led Terry with 20 points.

Brookhaven entertains McComb Friday night.
