Mr. Withers, 75, died March 4, 2002, at Baptist Medical Centerin Jackson. He was born in Leake County on Oct. 14, 1926, to JohnH. Withers and Florence Shoemake Withers.

He was retired from Brookhaven Creamery and Mississippi WoodPreserving. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He was an Armyveteran of WWII.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, JohnnyN. Withers.

Survivors are his brother and sister-in-law, John and BettyWithers of Biloxi; his sister-in-law, Elaine Withers of Brookhaven;his nephews, Richard Withers of Houston, Texas, and Dr. JamesWithers of Jackson; and his nieces, Laurin Withers Olsen andhusband Joe of Long Beach and Leigh Withers Boden and husbandDennis of Meridian.
