Services for Lula Mae Pickett of Roxie are noon Saturday, March30, at Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Kirby with burial following at Mt.Olive Cemetery.

Mrs. Pickett, 50, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, of heartfailure at Natchez Regional Hospital. She was born in Waterproof,La., on Feb. 3, 1952, to Pearlie Turner Bowie of Waterproof, La.,and the late William Bowie.

She was a custodian with the Franklin County School District anda minister. She was a member of First Baptist Church OutreachStreet Ministries. She was a high school graduate.

Survivors are her mother; husband, Wayne Havard; sons, FredrickLee Bowie and Arthur Pickett Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., and JeromePickett and Gerald Pickett of Meadville; brothers, William Bowieand Hardy Lee Bowie of New Orleans, Herman Bowie of Angola, La.,Larnell Turner of Kansas City, Mo., and Marshall Bowie of Liberty;sisters, Idell Bowie of Meadville, Alice Turner of Danville, Ill.,and Mattie Washington of Roxie; father-in-law, Roosevelt Havard;sisters-in-law, Janell Bowie of New Orleans and Dorothy Bowie ofLiberty; two grandchildren; one godchild, Sonestra Williams; and ahost of other relatives and friends.
