Services for Mitchell Cothern of Jayess are 5 p.m., Wednesday,April 17, at Powell’s Grove United Pentecostal Church with burialin the church cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge ofarrangements.

Visitation continues today at the church until service time.

Mr. Cothern, 75, died April 15, 2002, at his residence. He wasborn in Lawrence County on April 3, 1927, to Louis and EllaAlexander Cothern.

He was retired from Lawrence County Hospital. He was a member ofPowell’s Grove United Pentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Claudeand Jack Cothern; and his sisters, Truvie Morgan, Rhoda Alexanderand Hilda DiMaggio.

Survivors are his wife, Willie Mae Carney Cothern of Jayess; hisdaughters, Marion Thurman of Monticello, Wanda Price of Brookhaven,and Sandra Gaskins of Jayess; his brother, T. C. Cothern of SilverCreek; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
