Services for Floy Parsons Montgomery Edge of Brookhaven are 11a.m., Saturday, April 20, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel withburial in Gum Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Edge, 96, died April 19, 2002, at King’s Daughters MedicalCenter. She was born on Feb. 17, 1906, to Bailey and Dora Parsons.She had six brothers and four sisters and was the last survivingmember of her family.

She loved God and read her Bible daily. She was a member of NewProspect Baptist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker. She lovedpeople and enjoyed making things for others. She crocheted her lastafghan at the age of 84. Affectionately known as “Gau-Gau” to hergrandchildren, she enjoyed playing and visiting with them.

Preceding her in death were her husbands, W. O. Montgomery andJ. E. Edge; and her children, Parsons Demille Montgomery and aninfant son.

Survivors are her sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell Montgomeryof Brookhaven, Woody Montgomery of Smithdale, Ronnie and LindaMontgomery of Waskom, Texas, and Reginald and Nancy Montgomery ofMemphis; her daughters and sons-in-law, Melba O’Brien of Memphisand Glenda and Earl Tarver of Brookhaven; and 20 grandchildren, 29great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
