Hinds wins division pair from Co-Lin

RAYMOND – The Hinds Eagles swept a South Division baseballdoubleheader from the Co-Lin Wolves Saturday afternoon.

Hinds won the opener 12-2 and the finale 6-5 in eightinnings.

In the first game, the Wolves were held to two hits, both bysophomore Kyle Beall. Cole Zumbro was the losing pitcher, in fiveinnings with four strikeouts, two walks and eight hits allowed.Michael Edwards worked 1/3 of the sixth inning followed by JacobHartwig who worked the remainder of the game.

Chris Stevens got the win for Hinds in relief of starter NickJohnson. Chris Reed led the Eagles with a home run. Terry Rainstripled.

Hinds 6, Co-Lin 5

The teams were tied at 5-all after the sixth inning. Hindsscored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth for thesweep.

Flint Roberts posted the victory. Kendall Poole absorbed theloss. Seth Lofton relieved Poole in the seventh inning. Poolefanned five batters and walked seven.

At bat, Ryan Davis and David Gray doubled for the Wolves. Bealland Holleman had multiple hits.

Reed collected his second homer of the day for Hinds.

Co-Lin (23-17) will host LSU-Eunice Tuesday. The first gamebegins at 3 p.m.
