Services for Jefferson D. “J. D.” May of McComb are 1 p.m.,Saturday, May 11, at Mars Hill M. B. Church with burial in TopisawCemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Craft Funeral HomeChapel.

Mr. May, 75, died May 6, 2002, at Life Care Hospital in NewOrleans. He was born in Bogue Chitto on Feb. 8, 1927, to George andRosie Marie May.

He was a retired painter and sandblaster.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, and fivebrothers.

Survivors are his wife, Helen Brent May of McComb; his sons,David May of Morgan City, La., Henry May of Gibson, La., Thomas Mayof McComb, Jeffery May and Roosevelt May, both of New Orleans, andClarence May of Magnolia; his daughters, Alice Boutte of SouthCarolina, Rosie May of McComb, Laura Jackson of Jackson, and FayMay of Summit; his brothers, Hezekiah May of Milwaukee, Wis., andR. D. May of Pontiac, Mich.; his sister, Georgia Bullock of BogueChitto; and 30 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and a host ofnieces, nephews, and other relatives.
