Mooney holds lead in national

CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. – Co-Lin sophomore Matt Mooney fired a 2-underpar 70 to take the first round lead by 4 strokes Tuesday in theNJCAA Division III National Golf Tournament at the Chautauqua GolfClub. Mooney, from Brookhaven, had two eagles and two birdies. Hesank a 50-yard chip on No. 16 for eagle.

Will Kimmell of Southwest shot an 80 and was tied for 25th afterthe first round. Joey Young of Co-Lin shot 89 and was tied for85th.

The tournament is 72 holes and runs through Friday.
