Services for Jewell E. Cothren of Meadville are 2 p.m. Saturday,June 8, at Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church with burial inthe church cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, June 7, from 5-8 p.m. at Franklin FuneralHome.

Mr. Cothren, 79, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at CovingtonCounty Hospital in Collins. He was born in Franklin County on Dec.30, 1922, to the late Gordy and Fannie Temple Cothren.

He was retired. He was a member of Middleton Creek PrimitiveBaptist Church. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers andsisters.

Survivors are his wife, Wilda Hancock Cothren of Meadville;sons, Jewell E. Cothren Jr. of Shreveport, La., and Jack Cothren ofGreenwood; brother, Alfred Cothren of Meadville; sisters, JuanitaPeterson of Smithdale and Nellie Rae Andrews of McComb; and threegrandsons.
