Services for J.B. Russell of Ruth are 10 a.m. Monday, June 17,at Harrigill Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Russell FamilyCemetery.
Visitation is Sunday, June 16, from 5-10 p.m. at the funeralhome.
Mr. Russell, 80, died June 15, 2002, at St. Dominics Hospital inJackson. He was born in Lincoln County on Feb. 24, 1922, to JamesBenson and Wadie Idella Brister Russell.
He was the retired former owner of Russell Service Station andGrocery Store. He was the founder of Topisaw Creek WaterAssociation, where he served as president until his death. He was amember of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he served as adeacon. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.
Preceding him in death was his father.
Survivors are his wife, Doris L. Prestridge Russell of Ruth;daughters and sons-in law, Dorothy and Robert Allen of Ruth, JanetR. and Jerry Kirtfield of Ruth and Sara R. Nelson of Baton Rouge,La.; mother; brother, James Edwin Russell of Brookhaven; sisters,Virginia Toomer of Baton Rouge, La., and Yvonne Maxwell ofBrookhaven; grandchildren, Jason Thomas Gunnell, Bonnie Brady, NovaYork, Tonya Rushing, Tony Kirtfield and Kimberly Nelson; and 10great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pleasant HillBaptist Church Building Fund.
