The chamber contracted with Bice Advertising of Hattiesburg tocoordinate with them on the theme and design the materials. BiceAdvertising worked with the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce on itssuccessful “Homeseeker’s Paradise” campaign, among others.

“There’s been a lot of thought put into this. It’s been aproject,” said Mark Bice. “That’s what I find intriguing — thetying it all together into a central theme or concept.”

The campaign includes new printed materials for use as handoutsor to send to prospective industries and a county website.

“All the printed material is ready to go now,” Bice said.

An example of the promotional folder and its contents was passedamong members and received high praise. Contents include a bookletfeaturing general information about the county, an industrial parkcard with information for industrial promotion, a rack card fortourism and a piece to highlight how the LCCDA can work for thoseinterested in locating to the county.

“This looks really, really good,” Jayne Hunnicutt said.

McLain said the campaign is something the county has needed fora long time.

“The Chamber and CDA are excited about these new materials,” hesaid. “So much has changed since the last county brochure wasprinted over 10 years ago.”

The website was designed to emphasize the county’s genuinewarmth to visitors, Bice said.

“The thing that kept coming out during this campaign was thewarmth and hospitality of the people here,” he said. “We wanted totry to capture and portray that.”

The website is presently 34 pages and growing, Bice said. Fromthe main page, it is divided into three main sections — living, working and playing — and highlights the county’s best features inthose areas.

“There’s a lot of information still to be finalized and revisedbefore we go live,” but the site should be live in a few weeks,Bice said.

The new site will carry the web addresswww.lawrencecounty.org.
