Services for Bertha Porter Pilgreen of Monticello are 2 p.m.Sunday, July 7, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in BethelBaptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Pilgreen, 85, died July 5, 2002, at Lawrence County NursingCenter. She was born in Bernice, La., on June 6, 1917, to the lateWilliam Allen and Minnie Mae Harris Porter.

She was a retired clerk with the Mississippi State EmploymentService. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She moved toMonticello in 1972 from Lafayette, La.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James GarlandPilgreen; three brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors are her son, Ben G. Pilgreen of Villa Rica, Ga.;daughter, Madeleine Rayborn of Monticello; three grandchildren; andthree great-grandchildren.
