Services for Johnny Lawrence “Roach” Neal of Monticello are 2p.m., Tuesday, July 30, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burialin Neal-Smithie Cemetery in Jayess.

Visitation is Tuesday from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the funeralhome.

Mr. Neal, 29, died July 27, 2002, at University Medical Centerin Jackson. He was a native of Walthall County.

He was a truck driver with C.S. Ward, Inc. He was a member ofMonticello Pentecostal Church. He was a volunteer firefighter withthe Topeka Fire Department and a Lawrence County Auxiliary DeputySheriff. He also served in the Lawrence County Civil Defense,United States Navy and the National Guard.

Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Johnny Loyd Nealand James Lawrence Dyess.

Survivors are his parents, Floyd and Barbara Dyess Neal ofMonticello; his sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly and ByronGivens, both of Monticello; his grandmothers, Doris Neal of Arm andFannie Dyess of Prentiss; and a niece, Brianna Givens ofMonticello.
