Services for Claudia B. Parsons of Crystal Springs are 2 p.m.,Wednesday, August 7, at Crystal Springs United Methodist Churchwith burial in County Line Cemetery.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5-7 p.m., and Wednesday from 1-2p.m., at the church. Stringer Funeral Home is handlingarrangements.

Mrs. Parsons, 75, died Aug. 4, 2002 at St. Dominic Hospital inJackson.

She was retired from South Central Bell with 37 years ofservice. She was the first female forecaster for the company andwas a mentor to many young women, including her sisters anddaughters. She was a member of Crystal Springs United MethodistChurch.

Preceding her in death was her son, John Parsons.

Survivors are her husband, Wilbur F. Parsons of Crystal Springs;her daughter, Tracy Parsons Thompson of Crystal Springs; hersister, Bobbye Blackmon Henley of Jackson; her brothers, TerrellBlackmon of Crystal Springs, and Kenneth Blackmon of Glenallen,Alaska; and her granddaughter, Lindsey Thompson of CrystalSprings.
