Services for Charlie James Chatman Sr. of Brookhaven are 11a.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, at Macedonia M. B. Church with burial inthe church cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from noon until 6 p.m. at WilliamsMortuary.
Mr. Chatman, 65, died Aug. 18, 2002. He was born in Brookhavenon April 20, 1937, to Joe Chatman and Lucille Wilson Chatman.
He was a former employee of Charlie Nelms Ford Co. He had been abus driver with the Brookhaven Public Schools. He was retired fromthe City of Brookhaven. He was a member of Macedonia M. B.Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his sons, John D.Chatman Sr. and Charlie Coleman; his sisters, Beatrice Chatman,Rosie Lee Chatman, Floradine Chatman, and Sarah Armstrong; and hisbrothers, Joe Chatman Jr., J. C. Chatman, Edna Chatman and ErnestChatman.
Survivors are his sons, Charlie Chatman Jr. and Danny Chatman,both of Brookhaven, Victor Chatman of Jackson, William Chatman ofIndianapolis, Ind., and Maurice Smith of Seattle, Wash.; hisdaughters, Cynthia Diane Cameron, Deborah Payton, Latonya Smith,and Shelia Witherspoon, all of Brookhaven, and Nicole Demyers ofMuskegan, Mich.; his brother, Ellis Chatman of Brookhaven; hissisters, Elizabeth Chatman of Brookhaven and Margie Griffin ofJackson; and 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
