Services for M.R. ‘Dick’ Kilpatrick of Brookhaven are 9 a.m.Monday, Sept. 16, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inPhiladelphia at the family cemetery, where a graveside service isalso planned for 3 p.m. Monday.

Visitation is Sunday, Sept. 15, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeralhome.

Mr. Kilpatrick, 73, died Sept. 14, 2002, of a liver cancerassociated illness at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was bornin Philadelphia on Feb. 15, 1929, to the late J.J. “Pop” and MertieSkinner Kilpatrick.

He was retired from the Army Reserves, where he served for 33years. He was also retired as a med tech for the VeteransAdministration Health System. He lived on the Gulf Coast for morethan 20 years, in Crystal Springs for five years and moved toBrookhaven in 1984. He was a lifetime Shrine member.

Survivors are his wife, Stephanie Kilpatrick of Brookhaven;daughter, Barbara Kilpatrick Mooney of Gulfport; sisters, Sue Cookof Concord, N.C., and Ruby Taylor of Union; and two grandchildren,Katie and Patrick Mooney of Gulfport.
