Franklin Co. publisher dies of heart attack

David Webb, long-time publisher of the Franklin Advocate, diedSaturday of a heart attack, said Lincoln County Coroner-MedicalExaminer Clay McMorris.

Webb, 66, of Meadville, was in Brookhaven for a physical therapyappointment around 4 p.m., said his wife, Mary Lou. He startedhaving shortness of breath and was taken to the King’s DaughtersMedical Center emergency room.

Mary Lou Webb said her husband did not regain consciousness atthe emergency room. He was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m. Saturday byDeputy Coroner John Hart, McMorris said.

Mr. Webb had been publisher of the Franklin Advocate since 1962.He was also publisher of the Wilk-Amite Record.

Funeral arrangements, under the direction of Franklin FuneralHome, for Mr. Webb are incomplete.
