Services for Opal B. Day of Brookhaven are 2 p.m., Thursday,Sept. 26, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRiverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Brookhaven FuneralHome.

Mrs. Day, 84, died Sept. 24, 2002, at Beverly Health Care. Shewas born in Lawrence County on Sept. 27, 1918, to Melvin Boyd andEthel Hawn Boyd.

She was a retired beautician. She was a member of First BaptistChurch.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Claude DaySr.; and her son, Roland Day.

Survivors are her son, Claude Day Jr. of Brookhaven; herdaughters, Elsie Faye Williams of Atlanta and Shirley Ann Nash ofBrookhaven; her sister, Estelle McEwen of Tylertown; and 13grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and onegreat-great-grandchild.
