Services for Melton “Red” Walker of Pearl are 11 a.m., Friday,Sept. 27, at Lakewood Chapel with burial in Hollywood Cemetery inMcComb.
Visitation is Friday from 9 a.m. until service time at thefuneral home.
Mr. Walker, 72, died Sept. 21, 2002, at University MedicalCenter. He was born in Ruth to William Walker and Flora ThamesWalker.
He was a retired plant manager with Armstrong Tire & RubberCompany. He was a member of Pearson Road Baptist Church, where hewas a Sunday school teacher and a deacon. He was a Merchant Marinein WWII. He enjoyed working with steel and wood.
Survivors are his wife, Earline Brister Walker of Pearl; hissons, Dana Walker of Jayess and Ronnie Walker of Nigeria; hisstepson, Danny Rutland of Clinton; his daughters, Lorelei WalkerDean of Laurenburg, N.C., and April Walker Peavey of Monticello;his brother, Earl Wallace of McComb; his sisters, Bernice Jordanand Bertha Kemph, both of Bogue Chitto; and 10 grandchildren andeight great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
