Services for William Harold Blackmon of Lincoln County wereWednesday, Sept. 25, at Stringer Funeral Home in Hazlehurst withburial in Centerpoint Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Blackmon, 87, died Sept. 23, 2002, at his residence. He wasborn in Copiah County on April 4, 1915, to Modena Lamar Blackmonand Henry Harold Blackmon. He was a former resident of New Orleansand Slidell, La., moving to Lincoln County in 2001.
He was an electronic technician, working at Higgins Industriesduring WWII, followed by Electrical Supply Company in the 1950s. Inthe 1960s he owned and operated a television repair service. In thelate 1960s he worked at the Boeing Company at the New OrleansMichoud facility. He retired from the television repair business in1994. He was a member of Topisaw Baptist Church. He was a member ofthe American Hemerocallis Society and the Brookhaven DaylilyClub.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and his sisters, LucyLee Blackmon Nunnery, Doris Lucille Blackmon, and Joyce BlackmonBiggs.
Survivors are his wife, Imogene Prather Blackmon; his sons,Wayne Harold Blackmon of Slidell, La., and Richard Keith Blackmonof Lincoln County; his sister, Marietta Blackmon Norton; hisbrother, Billy Harris Blackmon; and four grandchildren, twostep-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and agreat-great-granddaughter.
