J.C. Hester, 78, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at Houston VAMedical Center in Houston, Texas. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m.,Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Brookhaven Funeral Home. Services are 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel with burial inRocky Hill Cemetery in Wesson.

Mr. Hester was born May 15, 1924 in Wesson to Allen Monroe andFannie Bell Smith Hester. He was married to Amy Roberts on March31, 1944. He was a cattleman, veteran of World War II and member ofRocky Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and twobrothers.

He is survived by his wife, Amy; two daughters and sons-in-law,La Donna and Billy King, Sandra and Jimmy Hoffmann; two sons anddaughters-in-law, J.C. Jr., and Hilda Hester, Ted Wayne and CindyHester; three sisters, Mildred Munn, Lavelle Stevens, Marie Miller;six grandchildren, Chad Hester, Sabrina Waller, James Hoffmann,Samantha Brewer, Ted Hester Jr., Amy Nicole White; and threegreat-grandchildren, Jason Chad Hester, La Shaun Hester, and JustinHester.

He was known to his grandchildren and great-grandchild as “JJ.”
