Services for Clayton Rudolph “Rudy” Bessonette of Brookhaven are2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at New Prospect Church.

Mr. Bessonette, 76, died Oct. 3, 2002, at St. Dominic’sHospital. His body was donated to University Medical Center formedical research. He was born on Aug. 27, 1926, to the late Leonand Edna Goings Bessonette.

He was a retired oil field worker. He was a member of NewProspect Baptist Church. He served his country in World War II.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Roy,Malcolm and Lonnie Bessonette; and his sisters, Elsa LeeBessonette.

Survivors are his wife, Frances Elkins Bessonette of Brookhaven;his sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Linda Bessonette of BogueChitto and Ernest and Patti Bessonette of Brookhaven; his daughterand son-in-law, Frances Karen and Tommy Holcomb of Bogue Chitto;his brothers, Wesley Bessonette, Homer Bessonette and FreddieBessonette, all of Brookhaven; his sister, Evelyn Smith ofArkansas; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
